Covering conditions
All breeders inseminating their mares with semen from the stallions at Paul Schockemöhle's EU-approved semen collection centre (D-KBP-087-EWG) accept the following terms and conditions as applicable to all existing and future business relationships. The Oldenburg Association's Terms and Conditions of Covering/Insemination also apply.
The breeding season commences on 1 January 2012 and ends on 31 July 2012.
Please place your telephone or fax orders for semen by 10 a.m. at the latest!
The following information should be provided in conjunction with semen orders:
• Stallion's name
• Name and full address of the mare's owner
• Exact shipping address, if different from the mare owner's address
• Mare's details (name, UELN, copy of lineage table, age)
(the semen which is supplied may only be used to inseminate the mare specified in the order)
• Your breeding association membership number so that we can register the mare's insemination
Please send us your breeder's certificates at the beginning of the breeding season!
All stud fees plus statutory VAT of 7 %. The stud fee is payable prior to the use of the semen.
Please remember that embryo transfers are subject to payment of the stud fee in respect of every flushed out embryo. A discount will be granted if several embryos are flushed out.
The breeder's certificate will not be issued or forwarded to the association until payment of the stud fee has been effected.
Europe-wide fresh semen deliveries are possible within 24 hours. Shipping costs of € 60 as well as a fee of
€ 30 for the issue of a veterinary health certificate are charged per delivery.
Costs for special requests as express or weekend shipments may differ. Please enquire about prizes.
The semen supplied to the buyer remain the property of Paul Schockemöhle Pferdehaltung GmbH until payment is completed.
If a stallion becomes unavailable at short notice during the breeding season for any particular reason (competition, sickness etc.), we will offer you frozen semen, if possible, or an alternative stallion of your choice. In this case, you will only be required to pay the stud fee of the last stallion used. Stud fees are non-reimbursable.
We would also like to point out that we give priority to using the semen of the most popular stallions for inseminating the mares at the service station in Mühlen.
Mares will be stabled in Mühlen at the risk and expense of the owner. Our daily livery charge is € 10 for mares and € 12 for mares and foals.
Artificial insemination and veterinary treatments (cervical swabs, gynaecological examinations etc.) will be performed by the stud veterinarian.
Mares will only be inseminated after a follicle check by the stud veterinarian. Please remember that all mares must have a cervical swab in advance, except for 3 year-old maiden mares and fillies.
If the mare does not conceive or resorbs, we will charge half of the stud fee paid in the previous year. This is subject to veterinarian confirmation of the mare not being in foal being provided by 1 December. Without this confirmation we are not able to issue a credit note. Mares which are inseminated for the first time after 1 July and do not conceive will be fully exempted from the stud fee for a stallion in the same stud fee category in the following year. Please remember that veterinary confirmation of the mare not being in foal must also be provided in this case by 1 December.
Frozen semen: We have frozen semen of nearly all our stallions in stock and the purchase of single breeding doses is possible (please enquire about prices). For shipment please either send us a suitable shipping container or rent it from our veterinarian for a charge of € 200. You have to pass your order in time (apprx.
5 days in advance) because the preparation and shipment takes longer than for fresh semen.
The frozen semen can not be resold.
